Grant overview

VACCHO is partnering with the Victorian Government to deliver the 2026-27 Aboriginal Community Food Security Grants to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait food security activities and Community-led initiatives in line with self-determination principles.

These grants recognise the pivotal role of Aboriginal-led organisations in delivering food relief and food security initiatives that are culturally responsive and meet the needs of Victoria’s Aboriginal Communities.

These grants are open to all Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, Aboriginal Community Gathering Places and Aboriginal-led organisations. Funding is available in the following amounts: $10,000, $25,000, $50,000 or $100,000.

Grants are flexible and VACCHO invites organisations to propose activities or initiatives that align with the objectives in the Grant Guidelines.

How to apply

This application process is designed to be as simple as possible. If you would like to preview the questions and work on your answers offline, you can download the questions here but remember you must still paste your answers into the online application form when you are finished and submit that.

To begin an application, click on Start New Submission at the top of the page. If you want to leave a partially completed application, press 'save and close' and log out. To start again click on the 'My Submissions' link at the top of the screen and you will see the application you have started. Just make sure you save as you go. You can also download any application, whether draft or completed, as a PDF by clicking on the 'Download PDF' button at the bottom of the last page of the application form.

When you are finished there's a Review and Submit button at the bottom of the Navigation Panel. You won't be able to submit your application until all the compulsory questions are completed. Once you have submitted your application, you won't be able to edit your application.

When you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email with a copy of your submitted application attached to the email that you used to log in. If you don't receive a confirmation of submission email then your submission has NOT been submitted.

Good luck!
